The Airleg Miner is responsible for performing manual drilling and ground support installation using airleg mining methods.

Deflector Operation consists of two high-grade, narrow vein Gold/Copper mines, located 160km east of Geraldton. The ore is contained in a series of structurally complex lodes, namely the Deflector and Deflector South West deposits.

The Airleg Miner is responsible for performing manual drilling and ground support installation using airleg mining methods to develop and extract ore safely and efficiently.

n

Key responsibilities of this role will include:

n

n




- Perform airleg development and production drilling according to mine plans and standards.
n
- Install ground support including split sets, mesh, and grouted bolts using manual methods.
n
- Collar, drill, and blast rises, ore drives, and development headings manually.
n
- Conduct scaling operations to remove loose rock.
n
- Perform basic maintenance and servicing of airleg equipment.
n
- Monitor ground conditions and report hazards or changes to Supervisors immediately.
n
- Complete shift reports accurately, including drill and bolt logs.
n
- Ensure cross-shift handovers are clear, comprehensive, and documented.
n
- Assist with the setup of underground headings and ensure efficient cycle management.
n
- Maintain equipment and LV storage areas in a clean and orderly condition.
n

About You:

n

n
- Minimum 2 years' experience in underground airleg mining operations
n
- Competency in vertical rise work and ladder access
n
- Proficiency in manual drilling, ground support installation, scaling
n
- Current WA Manual Driver's License (C-Class)
n
- WA Dangerous Goods Security Card (DGSC)
n
- Senior First Aid Certificate
n
