To provide good care and food to our residents, we are looking for an experienced and skilled Cook (senior) to join our kitchen team.

The cook will be responsible for the following duties including, but not limited to:

Key Responsibilities

• Check daily menu and set up workstations ready for service.

• Prepare ingredients and cook breakfast, main meals, soups, desserts and evening meals according to work schedule.

• Prepare and provide residents with a varied, nutritious and well-balanced diet in accordance with the planned menu, individual preferences, nutritional requirements and dietary needs.

• Prepare and cater for modified and special diets, ensuring residents receive sufficient nutrition meeting their individual health requirements.

• Liaising with Care Team to understand individual resident requirements and changes.

• Ensure recipes are followed and meal presentation standards are met as per the Food and Dining Quality Standard.

• Check stock levels regularly, record and report on any items that need to be ordered; ensuring adequate stocks are left for the next shift.





• Place orders for products with approved suppliers and assess food quality received from suppliers.

• Store, label, and handle food properly to maintain quality and ensure compliance with food safety standards.

• Review daily menu and recipes and make updates if required.

• Maintain high standard of personal hygiene and ensure work areas as well as cooking equipment are kept clean and tidy at all times.

• Maintain food safety checks and cleaning schedules, record fridge, freezer and food temperatures as planned.

• Maintain safety practices in the kitchen and in the facility to prevent injury to yourself, residents, visitors and other staff, ensuring hazards are reported and acted upon promptly.

• Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and efficient food service delivery.

Eligibility Criteria

• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.

• At least three years of experience in similar role.

• Proven experience as a Cook in a high-volume commercial kitchen (3 yrs or more).

• Experience working within healthcare, residential or similar environment (desirable)

Other Requirements:

• Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).

• Up-to-date influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations as required.

• Understanding special dietary requirements, including texture-modified diets.

Salary - $80,000 plus super

Work Mode - Full time
