About the role

ARRCS are currently sourcing an experienced Chef to lead the preparation, handling, and storage of our residents’ meals at Katherine Hostel Aged Care facility in Katheirne, NT.

This role is being recruited with full time hours of 38 hours per week on a 7-month maximum term contract commencing end October 2026 and attracts an hourly rate of $35.33 - $37.75 / hour gross.

This role would ideally suit a skilled Chef or Cook who enjoys working in a multi-functional kitchen and likes to place a ‘personal’ touch on their meal design and preparation. You will hold a minimum of Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and ideally have prior experience cooking and preparing meals for the elderly, or large volume cooking.

Skills and experience

To be considered for this role, you must demonstrate the following:

- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or a similar discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a commercial cook workplace, with preference within a Health or Aged care facility.
- Demonstrated prior experience in the development of menus’ and working with multiple dietary requirements.
- Extensive knowledge of health and safety legislation in response to food preparation, food handling and storage.
- Demonstrated ability in achieving personal goals and identifying areas for new training, development and requesting further training for any development in competency skill checks.




- Demonstrated ability to respond and adapt to competing priorities whilst working unsupervised.
- Demonstrated ability to empathize with Aged People, their families, and Personal Carers.
