Akubra is an iconic Australian hat manufacturer with a heritage spanning nearly 150 years. We’re opening a new store in Melbourne CBD and looking for an experienced Store Manager to lead our team, bring the Akubra brand to life and help create an exceptional experience for every customer who walks through the door.
What you’ll do
- Lead, motivate and develop the retail team.
- Create a welcoming, knowledgeable and distinctly Akubra customer experience.
- Drive sales, achieve store targets and reach KPIs.
- Managing day-to-day store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling and stock management
- Maintain high visual merchandising and presentation standards.
- Manage rostering, team performance and attendance
- Support the recruitment, onboarding and training of team members
- Work closely with the wider Akubra team to support retail initiatives and brand campaigns
- Represent the Akubra brand with pride and authenticity
What you’ll bring
- Previous experience as a Store Manager,
Assistant Store Manager or senior retail leader.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication and organisational skills and a natural ability to connect with people.
- Ability to acquire and retain in-depth knowledge of the Akubra product range and brand history.
- A commercial mindset and confidence working towards targets and KPIs.
- A hands-on approach and willingness to get involved in all aspects of the store.
- The ability to build genuine connections with customers and team members.
