Position Overview

n

We are looking for an engaging, hands-on HSE Advisor to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, working a 2:1 FIFO/DIDO roster.

n

Located in NE Victoria, the Laceby Solar Farm integrates a 60 MW AC solar generation system with 240 MWh of battery energy storage, designed to deliver reliable, low-carbon power to the regional grid. Combining renewable generation and advanced storage to ensure firm, dispatchable clean energy, supporting grid stability and Australia's energy transition.

Onsite, you will be working closely with the Project Manager and site teams to drive HSE performance, identify and manage risks, and help us as we continue to build a positive safety culture across our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

n

- Proactively address and anticipate HSE issues, ensuring effective communication with project personnel and participation in site meetings.
n
- Ensure HSE plans, policies, and systems are accessible and effectively used to meet project HSE objectives.
n
- Maintain up-to-date HSE records, reports, and risk registers,



ensuring compliance with site-specific and legislative requirements.
n
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments, adjusting plans to address compliance gaps.
n
- Ensure safe movement of materials, equipment, and personnel, adhering to HSE standards.
n
- Promote safety controls, report incidents, and ensure compliance with AEC's Incident Management Procedure.
n
- Take immediate action on reported hazards, implementing and reviewing controls as necessary.
n
- Enforce safety standards and foster a safety-first culture through training, hazard reporting, and corrective actions.
n
- Assist in delivering HSE training and toolbox talks, ensuring personnel meet regulatory requirements.
n
- Ensure adherence to company policies, HSE management systems, and maintain professionalism in all HSE matters.
n
- Contribute to continuous improvement, driving innovation and excellence in safety practices.
n

Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

n

n
- Minimum 2-3 years of HSE experience in the renewable energy sector, preferable in solar or wind energy projects.
n
- Experience in monitoring and implementing HSE policies and procedures on-site.
n
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and their application on construction sites.
n
- Good communication and interpersonal skills,



with the ability to collaborate effectively with teams and report to the Project Manager with the support from the HSEQ Manager.
n
- Ability to identify hazards, assess risks, and take proactive measures to ensure site safety.
n
- Knowledge of incident investigation techniques and reporting requirements.
n
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
n
- Construction Induction Card (White Card) and Open Driver's License.
n
- Ability to pass a medical examination as required by clients.
n
- Proof of working rights in Australia or New Zealand
n
- Ability to travel and work on projects around Australia,this role is based on Fly in Fly out (FiFO).
