HOBAN Recruitment | Event Labourers | $34.96/hr | Temporary Contract | Melbourne About the Opportunity HOBAN Recruitment is currently seeking reliable and hardworking Event Labourers to join our team for a major sporting event in Melbourne CBD from October 2026 toMarch2027.

This is an exciting opportunity to work behind the scenes of a large-scale sporting event, supporting the event build, site preparation, bump-in, live operations and bump-out.

n

You will work as part of a large onsite workforce alongside event staff, contractors, forklift operators and other labourers to help ensure the event site is prepared, maintained and safely operated.

n

About the Role

n

As an Event Labourer, your duties may include:

n

n
- General labouring and manual handling duties across the event site
n
- Assisting with event bump-in and site setup
n
- Moving equipment, materials, furniture, signage and other event infrastructure
n
- Supporting contractors and onsite teams with general tasks
n
- Assisting with site preparation and pack-down
n
- Supporting the movement and organisation of materials across designated work areas
n
- Maintaining clean, organised and safe work areas
n
- Assisting during live event operations where required
n
- Supporting bump-out and dismantling activities following the event
n
- Following instructions from supervisors and onsite coordinators
n
- Complying with all workplace health and safety requirements
n
- Working effectively as part of a large and diverse team
n
- Adapting to changing operational requirements throughout the event
n

About You

n





We are looking for people who are:

n

n
- Reliable, punctual and committed to completing their rostered shifts
n
- Physically fit and comfortable performing manual labour
n
- Comfortable working outdoors and across a large event site
n
- Able to undertake manual handling and repetitive physical tasks
n
- Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods
n
- Able to follow instructions and work effectively within a team
n
- Safety-conscious and committed to following workplace procedures
n
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing operational requirements
n
- Available to work across the event build, bump-in and bump-out periods
n
- Previous labouring, events, warehousing, construction or logistics experience is desirable but not essential
n

Project Timeline

n

This is a large-scale event project with opportunities available across multiple stages:

n

n
- Mid-October 2026 – December 2026: Event setup, site preparation and bump-in
n
- January 2027: Live event operations, supporting the event throughout the event period
n
- February 2027 – End of March 2027: Bump-out, pack-down and site reinstatement
n

Successful applicants may have the opportunity to work across one or multiple stages of the project, depending on operational requirements, availability and experience.

Please note that shift requirements may vary across each stage of the project, with increased workforce requirements expected during key setup and bump-out periods.
