PURPOSE

The Technical Implementations Consultant is responsible for designing, developing, configuring, testing and maintaining software solutions within the platform to meet business and customer requirements.

n

The role involves analysing software and system requirements, translating those requirements into technical specifications, and developing software components, data models, user interfaces, workflows, business rules and system integrations.

n

The role contributes across the software development lifecycle, including solution design, software configuration, scripting, testing, documentation, troubleshooting and continuous improvement of the platform.

n

RESPONSIBILITIES

n

The Technical Implementations Consultant is responsible for designing, developing, implementing and maintaining software solutions within the platform.

n

The role requires strong technical capability, an understanding of software development principles, and the ability to deliver scalable, reliable and fit-for-purpose software solutions.

n

The position involves working with technical and business requirements to design and implement platform functionality, including data models, user interfaces, business rules, financial calculations, workflows and system processes.

n

The Software Engineer also performs system testing, integration testing, technical documentation, troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities to ensure software solutions meet agreed requirements and operate effectively.

- Analyse software, system and business requirements and translate them into technical and functional specifications for the platform.
n
- Design, develop, configure and implement software solutions within the platform to meet agreed requirements.
n




- Design and implement data models, including insurance product and claims-related data structures, based on system and customer requirements.
n
- Develop and configure user interfaces and user journeys for software applications and platform functionality.
n
- Use scripting languages and platform development tools to implement business rules, financial calculations, workflows and system logic.
n
- Design, configure and maintain software workflows, document templates, rules engines and system processes within the platform.
n
- Analyse data conversion requirements and develop data transformation, mapping and migration specifications.
n
- Prepare technical documentation, including system specifications, configuration documentation, testing documentation and software process documentation.
n
- Perform system testing, integration testing and defect resolution to ensure software solutions meet agreed technical and functional requirements.
n
- Troubleshoot software configuration issues, system defects and integration issues, and implement appropriate technical resolutions.
n
- Collaborate with development teams to design, specify and implement new software features and platform enhancements.
n
- Review and improve existing software configuration, workflows, data models and system processes to improve performance, reliability and maintainability.
n




- Support the implementation of software development best practices, including documentation standards, testing processes and information security requirements.
n
- Maintain a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, including agile and waterfall delivery methodologies.
n
- Work with relational databases and complex software packages to support the design, configuration and implementation of platform solutions.
n

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

The role requires the following skills and experience:

- Experience designing, developing, configuring or implementing software solutions within complex software platforms.
n
- Robust understanding of the software development lifecycle.
n
- Experience translating business and system requirements into technical specifications.
n
- Experience creating technical documentation, system specifications, process documentation and testing documentation.
n
- Experience developing or configuring data models, workflows, user interfaces, business rules and system logic.
n
- Experience using scripting languages or platform development tools to implement software functionality.
n
- Experience performing system testing, integration testing, troubleshooting and defect resolution.
n
- Understanding of relational databases, data mapping and data transformation.
n
- Experience working with large or complex software packages.
n
- Commercial experience working in agile and/or waterfall software development environments.
n
- Strong attention to detail, analytical capability and problem-solving skills.
n
- Degree qualified in information technology, software engineering, computer science or a related field, or equivalent commercial experience.
