We're Hiring: Construction Project Coordinator | Steel Construction

Custom Steel Fab is a growing local steel construction company servicing the construction and mining industries. We are looking for a proactive and highly organized Project Coordinator to join our team and play a key role in the successful delivery of structural steel projects.

n

Location: Townsville (Local Position)
n Remuneration: Highly competitive package based on experience and proven delivery.

n

Working closely with our General Manager, Supervisors, workshop and site crews, you will coordinate the people, materials, documentation and resources required to keep projects running safely, efficiently and on schedule.

n

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

n

n
- Coordinate structural crews, workforce availability, rosters and competencies.
n
- Assist with project planning, scoping, work packs, methodologies, budgets and schedules.
n
- Coordinate project start-ups, documentation, permits, licenses and client requirements.
n
- Coordinate materials, procurement, deliveries, equipment and project resources.
n
- Monitor project progress, labour hours, costs and budgets, identifying discrepancies and escalating issues.
n
- Review and approve employee timesheets for accuracy, coding and project allocation.
n
- Identify and assist with preparation of variations and supporting documentation.
n
- Ensure project documentation, JSEA's, permits and compliance requirements are maintained.
n
- Coordinate workforce training, competency requirements and mobilization documentation.
n
- Attend site meetings, inspections,



client reviews and project handovers.
n
- Maintain clear communication between project teams, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
n
- Provide daily project updates to the General Manager covering progress, risks, issues and next steps.
n
- Provide administrative and coordination support to the Project Management and Estimating teams.
n

- Highly organised, proactive and reliable.

- Experienced in project coordination, construction or a similar industry.
n
- Ideally experienced in structural steel, construction, engineering or mining.
n
- Confident coordinating people, resources and multiple priorities.
n
- Commercially aware with an understanding of project costs, budgets and labour hours.

- A strong communicator with excellent attention to detail.
n
- Able to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
n
- Practical, solutions-focused and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
