Are you an experienced disability practitioner looking to make a real difference for vulnerable children and families?

n

The Family Services Specialist Disability Practitioner role is part of the BCHS family services team and sits across the North Central Family Services Alliance. The role works in partnership with a number of alliance organisations to provides specialist disability support, NDIS expertise and capacity building across the Family Services sector.

Key Responsibilities

n

- Support families to access NDIS and disability services.
n
- Provide specialist consultation and guidance to practitioners.
n
- Deliver training and capacity-building activities.
n
- Build robust partnerships across disability, health, education and community sectors.
n
- Advocate for children and families experiencing vulnerability.
n

Essential Requirements

n

n
- Degree qualification in Social Work, Community Services or related discipline.
n
- Demonstrated NDIS and disability sector experience.
n
- Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills.
n
- Current Working with Children Check and Driver Licence.
n

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

n

Essential

n

n
- Minimum Bachelor level qualifications inSocialWork, Community Services, CommunityWelfareor Community Development related discipline.
n
- Experience in delivery of a collaborative service in conjunction with partners.
n
- Strong understanding of disability, family services and child wellbeing frameworks.
n
- Experience working in and extensive knowledge of the NDIS and disability support systems.
n
- Have an in-depth knowledge around the changing nature or the sector and NDIS funding structures
n
- Ability to provide consultation, coaching and capacity-building support to professional and families.
n
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and partnership development skills.
n
- Commitment to child safety, cultural safety, inclusion and Aboriginal self-determination principles.
n
- Active commitment to the development and maintenance of a learning environment and cohesive multi-disciplinary team and engagement in team meetings, staff development,supervisionand reflective practice
n
- A current employee Working with Children Check and Driver's Licence.
n
- The successful applicant will be required to undertake and complete a Satisfactory National Police Check.

- Post graduate qualifications in social work, Family Therapy, Psychology or related fields.
n
- Five or more years experiencing in the disability sector.
n
