Job Description

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the HR Manager will take ownership of the people function across the group. Working closely with venue and senior management, this role will provide practical HR leadership across recruitment, onboarding, compliance, employee relations, performance and engagement. The position offers a hybrid working model, with time split between working from home and regular visits to venues across Sydney.

Key responsibilities include:

- Manage management-level recruitment, onboarding and induction, while overseeing training completion and employee records through Tanda

- Maintain HR compliance across working rights, visas, RSA, food safety requirements, pay rates, modern awards, Fair Work obligations and WH&S;

- Coordinate probation and performance reviews, employee development initiatives, leave processes and workforce planning

- Provide managers with practical guidance on employee relations, performance management, conflict resolution and workplace investigations

- Develop HR policies, monitor workforce and turnover trends, and drive initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, recognition and workplace culture





Candidate Profile

This opportunity will suit an experienced hospitality HR professional who enjoys operating autonomously while remaining highly connected to venue teams. You will be approachable, organised and solutions-focused, with the confidence to advise managers on complex people matters while maintaining discretion and professionalism. A positive attitude and genuine interest in building a strong workplace culture will be essential.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

- 3-5+ years of experience in Human Resources or People & Culture, including relevant hospitality industry experience

- Hands-on experience interpreting and applying Restaurant Industry Award pay rates and employment conditions

- Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, Fair Work requirements, modern awards and HR compliance

- Experience with Tanda or comparable workforce management systems, supported by excellent organisational and administrative capability

- Strong employee relations, stakeholder management and communication skills, with full Australian working rights; a driver's licence and access to a vehicle are highly regarded due to regular venue travel
