Overview:

Sprout Early Learning Centres are an exceeding-rated, long day care providers, located in Wamberal and Terrigal, NSW. We are committed to providing holistic, child-led education for children aged 0–5.

We are currently seeking a Qualified Educator / Child Care Worker to join the team! You will be responsible for providing high-quality education, care and active supervision to children attending Sprout ELC Wamberal. The role supports children's social, emotional, physical and cognitive development through responsive relationships, age-appropriate learning experiences, play-based programs and consistent daily routines. This is a full time ongoing position working 38 hours per week in Wamberal, NSW.

Main tasks:

- Provide education, care and active supervision for children throughout the day, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, dignity and individual needs are supported.
- Prepare materials, resources and equipment for children's educational, recreational and play-based experiences.
- Set up, maintain and pack away safe, stimulating and developmentally appropriate indoor and outdoor learning environments.
- Plan, prepare and conduct age-appropriate educational, creative, physical and recreational experiences based on children's interests, development and learning needs.
- Support children's social, emotional, physical, language and cognitive development through responsive interactions and intentional teaching practices.
- Develop secure, nurturing and respectful relationships with children that promote a strong sense of belonging, wellbeing and emotional safety.
- Guide children's behaviour and social development using positive, respectful and developmentally appropriate strategies.
- Support children to develop independence, confidence, self-regulation and positive relationships with others.
- Supervise and support children's daily routines, including meals, bottles where applicable, sleep and rest, toileting, nappy changing, dressing and personal hygiene.
- Maintain appropriate hygiene, infection-control and food-safety practices throughout children's routines and learning environments.




- Observe children's learning, development, behaviour and participation and use these observations to contribute to educational planning.
- Complete accurate observations, developmental records, learning documentation, routine records and other required service documentation.
- Communicate professionally with parents and families regarding children's routines, wellbeing, participation, learning and development.
- Work collaboratively with families to understand and support each child's individual needs, routines, culture, family circumstances and development.
- Support children with medical, dietary, cultural, developmental and additional needs in accordance with relevant plans, family instructions and service procedures.
- Administer or assist with medication and health-management requirements where authorised and appropriately trained.
- Maintain active supervision and educator-to-child ratios at all times.
- Complete routine safety checks of indoor and outdoor environments, equipment and resources.
- Identify and report hazards and take reasonable action to maintain a safe environment for children, staff, families and visitors.
- Accurately report and document incidents, injuries, illnesses and other matters in accordance with service policy and regulatory requirements.
- Follow all child protection policies and procedures and fulfil mandatory-reporting responsibilities.
- Implement practices consistent with the Early Years Learning Framework and contribute to educational programs that respond to children's interests, strengths and developmental needs.
- Contribute to Sprout ELC Wamberal’s broader curriculum and service experiences, including nature-based learning, Bush Kindy, mindfulness,



sustainability and other centre programs where relevant.
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, reflective practice and continuous-improvement activities.
- Contribute to the service's Quality Improvement Plan and support the ongoing achievement of National Quality Standard requirements.
- Work collaboratively with educators, management, families and relevant external support services to promote positive outcomes for children.
- Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct when handling information relating to children, families, staff and the service.
- Follow Sprout ELC Wamberal Centre's policies, procedures, lawful directions and professional standards at all times.

Required/Relevant Qualifications & Work Experience:

- Certificate III or higher in Early Childhood Education and Care (or ACECQA-approved equivalent) plus minimum 1 year’ relevant work experience in the last 5 years.

Required/Relevant Skills & Knowledge:

- Demonstrated knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework.
- Understanding of the National Quality Framework, National Quality Standards and Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and implement developmentally appropriate play-based learning experiences.
- Ability to observe children's development and maintain accurate educational and care documentation.
- Strong communication skills and ability to build respectful relationships with children, families and colleagues.
- Ability to support children with individual medical, dietary, cultural, developmental and additional needs.
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications as required by the service.
- Understanding of child protection obligations and mandatory reporting responsibilities.
- Commitment to inclusive, child-safe and culturally responsive practice.

Annual salary will be between $79,000.00 to $85,000.00 (plus superannuation) depending on level of experience.
