About the Role

n

We are looking for someone who is confident supporting young people with complex behaviours and support needs and who can build positive, trusting relationships.

n

You will be supporting a young person to feel protected, understood and empowered while helping them develop life skills, emotional regulation and positive relationships.

n

Your role may include:

n

n
- Providing individualised support and supervision
n
- Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
n
- Implementing behaviour support strategies and individual care plans
n
- Using therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches in your day-to-day interactions
n
- Building a strong, trusting relationship with the young person
n
- Supporting community access, activities and daily routines
n
- Encouraging independence and developing life skills
n
- Maintaining professional boundaries and a safe environment
n




- Working collaboratively with the wider support team
n
- Completing accurate progress notes and required documentation
n

n

We're looking for someone who is:

n

n
- Passionate about working with young people
n
- Has a Certificate 4 or higher in a relevant field.
n
- Patient, calm and compassionate
n
- Confident supporting behaviours of concern
n
- Experienced in or knowledgeable about behaviour support
n
- Familiar with trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches
n
- Able to remain calm and consistent during challenging situations
n
- A great communicator who can build positive relationships
n
- Reliable and committed to providing consistent support
n
- Comfortable working independently while also being part of a team
n

n

Experience working with young people who have complex behavioural or emotional needs is highly desirable.

n

Experience or training in areas such as:

n

n
- Trauma-informed practice
n
- Therapeutic care
n
- Positive Behaviour Support
n
- Youth work, disability support, residential care or community services
n

n
