Occupational Therapist | Mental Health & Community

If you're an Occupational Therapist who actually enjoys working with people and wants more freedom in the way you practise, this could be a role worth looking at.

We're looking for an OT who is passionate about mental health, wellbeing and helping people build more independent, meaningful lives.

n

This isn't about sitting behind a desk ticking boxes all day. You'll have the flexibility to work in a way that makes sense for your clients and for you, with a mix of work from home, telehealth, community visits, client homes, supported accommodation and clinic-based appointments.

n

The Role

n

You'll work with children, adolescents and/or adults across a range of mental health, psychosocial, neurological, developmental and physical presentations.

n

You'll get to know your clients properly, understand what they're trying to achieve and work alongside them to find practical ways forward.

n

Your work could include:

- Functional and occupational assessments
n
- Individualised treatment and intervention plans
n
- Supporting emotional and sensory regulation
n
- Building independence with everyday activities
n
- Executive functioning and social participation
n
- Functional capacity assessments
n
- Assistive technology recommendations
n
- Environmental modifications
n
- Working alongside families, carers and other professionals
n
- Clinical documentation and report writing
n

The big thing is that you'll have a genuine say in how you manage your caseload and your day.

You'll have autonomy without being left on your own,



with regular supervision, clinical support and a team around you when you need it.

n

What We're Looking For

n

We're after someone who is clinically capable, but just as importantly, someone who is genuine, empathetic and easy to work with.

n

You'll need:

n

n
- Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist
n
- A relevant Occupational Therapy qualification
n
- Strong clinical reasoning and assessment skills
n
- Valuable report-writing and communication skills
n
- The ability to manage your own caseload
n
- A person-centred, strengths-based approach
n
- A genuine interest in mental health and psychosocial support
n
- Experience across mental health, community, disability or NDIS will be highly regarded.
n
