About the Role:

Phone Care Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and motivated Hardware Technician to join our team in Mudgee, NSW.

The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and configuring a range of computer, mobile phone and peripheral hardware. The role also involves installing and configuring operating systems, performing hardware testing and quality assurance, and providing professional technical support and customer service.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The Hardware Technician will be responsible for:

- Identifying and diagnosing hardware issues in mobile phones, computers and associated peripheral devices.
- Using appropriate diagnostic tools and troubleshooting methods to determine the root cause of hardware faults.
- Repairing or replacing faulty hardware components, including damaged screens, batteries, motherboards and other internal components.
- Installing, upgrading and configuring new hardware components and peripheral devices.
- Installing, maintaining and configuring operating systems as required.
- Performing testing and quality assurance checks on repaired or replaced hardware to ensure correct and reliable operation.
- Conducting thorough post-repair testing to confirm that identified faults have been successfully resolved.
- Cleaning, servicing and maintaining hardware components and devices to support optimal performance and reliability.
- Ensuring the proper integration and compatibility of hardware components with operating systems and other software.
- Maintaining an organised inventory of hardware components, spare parts,



tools and related equipment.
- Following applicable workplace health and safety procedures when handling electronic devices, components, tools and equipment.
- Maintaining accurate records of diagnostics, repairs, replacements and maintenance work undertaken.
- Providing qualified customer service by explaining technical issues, responding to customer concerns and ensuring customers are satisfied with repair and technical support services.
- Working collaboratively with other team members to resolve technical issues efficiently and maintain service standards.

Skills and Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, applicants should have:

- A relevant qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field (highly regarded).
- At least three (3) years of relevant experience as a Hardware Technician or in a similar technical role.
- Demonstrated experience in diagnosing, repairing and maintaining mobile phones, computers and related hardware.
- Experience in device and hardware maintenance and development.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues promptly.
- Knowledge of various operating systems, network protocols and web technologies.
- Good understanding of hardware and software integration.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team.
- A strong commitment to providing excellent customer service.
