Join a Growing Managed Services Team

Are you passionate about technology, love solving problems, and enjoy helping people? We are looking for an enthusiastic Computer Network and System Engineer to join our Managed Services team supporting a diverse portfolio of business customers across Australia.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a solid foundation in Microsoft technologies and end-user support, and who is eager to expand their skills across cloud, networking, cybersecurity, and infrastructure technologies.

You'll work alongside experienced engineers in a fast-paced Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment, gaining exposure to a broad range of technologies while delivering exceptional customer service. The role aligns with first-line support responsibilities, ticket management, customer communication, and escalation practices described in Exigo Tech's existing Service Desk Engineer position description.

Network Infrastructure:

- Design, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, and VPN networks.

- Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems.

- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues as needed.

- Collaborate with third-party vendors for network-related projects and services.

System Infrastructure:

- Administer and maintain server infrastructure, including Windows and Linux systems.

- Install, configure, and upgrade hardware and software components.

- Manage virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).

- Ensure system backups and disaster recovery plans are in place and tested.

- Responding to and resolving IT incidents, service requests, and system enhancement needs based on defined service levels and business priorities.

- Diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware (server, workstations) software (Microsoft365, SharePoint, Teams, Azure)



and network devices using remote monitoring and management (RMM) and mobile device management (MDM) tools.

Security:

- Implement security best practices and policies to protect network and system resources.

- Perform regular security assessments and audits.

- Respond to security incidents and breaches, including incident analysis and remediation.

Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

- Monitor network and system performance using monitoring tools.

- Resolve technical issues and provide support to end-users.

- Troubleshoot hardware and software problems in a timely manner.

- Administrating and managing the service ticket lifecycle using ticketing systems (Kaseya), ensuring timely logging, categorization, prioritization, resolution and documentation of all IT service requests.

Documentation:

- Developing, maintaining and updating technical documentation, including system specifications and knowledgebase resources for ongoing support and reference.

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for network and system configurations.

- Create network and system diagrams, as well as standard operating procedures.

Collaboration:

- Work closely with IT teams and stakeholders to understand business requirements.

- Collaborate on projects related to network and system enhancements.

- Provide technical expertise and support for IT initiatives.

Azure Fundamentals

- Basic understanding of Microsoft Azure

- Identity and access management concepts

- Azure Virtual Machines

- Azure networking fundamentals

- Cloud infrastructure concepts

End User Support

- Windows desktop operating systems

- Hardware and software troubleshooting





- Printer and peripheral support

- Mobile device support (iOS and Android)

- Remote support tools and methodologies

Networking Skills:

We are particularly interested in candidates who have a strong interest in networking and infrastructure technology.

You should have a good understanding of:

- TCP/IP

- DNS and DHCP

- LAN and WAN technologies

- Wi-Fi networking concepts

- VPN connectivity

- Routers, switches, and firewalls

- Network troubleshooting fundamentals

- Basic network security principles

- Enjoys troubleshooting and problem-solving.

- Has excellent communication and customer service skills.

- Takes ownership of issues through to resolution.

- Works well under pressure and can prioritise effectively.

- Demonstrates initiative and a willingness to continuously improve. These qualities alignclosely with the communication, problem-solving, teamwork, learning, customer service,and attention-to-detail attributes identified in the existing Service Desk Engineer roleprofile.

Qualifications and Skills:

Essential

- Certificate IV in Information Technology or equivalent.

- 1+ years of experience in an IT support, Service Desk, or MSP environment.

- Strong Microsoft 365 and Windows support experience.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Full Australian work rights.

Highly Desirable

- Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS-900)

- Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)

- ITIL Foundation

- CompTIA A+

- CompTIA Network+

- Exposure to managed services environments

Compensation: A$80K/yr – A$100K/yr
