Carey is seeking a highly organised, proactive and passionate Program Assistant to support the delivery of our renowned Outdoor Education and Carey Zero programs.

Working closely with the Head of Outdoor Education, Head of Zero Program, teaching staff and external providers, this role provides essential administrative, logistical and operational support across some of Carey's most impactful student experiences, including the Year 7 Outdoor Education Program, Year 9 Wabonga Program, and the Year 10 Carey Zero Program.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys working behind the scenes to make complex programs run smoothly, and is passionate about supporting student growth through experiential learning.

This is a 12 month position, commencing in Term 1, 2027.

Carey's experiential learning programs are designed to challenge, inspire and engage students through meaningful connections with people, place and community.



Through Outdoor Education and the Carey Zero Program, students develop resilience, character, wellbeing, environmental stewardship and a deeper understanding of First Nations perspectives and Australia's diverse landscapes.

The role:

As a Program Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the successful planning and delivery of our programs by:

- Assisting the Outdoor Education and Carey Zero teams with program delivery and day-to-day operations.
- Preparing resources, equipment and materials for camps, excursions and program activities.
- Supporting the set-up and pack-down of activities and events.
- Coordinating practical and logistical aspects of the Year 7, Year 9 Wabonga and Year 10 Carey Zero programs.
- Attending selected camps, activities and events to provide operational support.
- Assisting staff in creating positive and engaging learning experiences for students.
- Providing practical support to students participating in experiential learning programs.
- Promoting student engagement, inclusion and participation.
- Supporting student wellbeing and safety processes.
- Collaborating with staff and external providers to ensure programs run effectively.
- Undertaking a range of administrative and operational tasks to support program leaders.

What do I need to succeed?

- Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a quick-paced environment.




- A collaborative and adaptable approach to teamwork.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Wilderness First Aid and Anaphylaxis qualification (desirable, or willingness to obtain)
- Outdoor Education qualifications or equivalent experience (desirable).

A valid Employee Working with Children Check or current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Registration is required for this position.
