Make a difference in your community through great customer service! As a Customer Service Officer, you’ll connect with our community every day, helping customers with bookings, memberships, enquiries and Centre services while creating a welcoming experience from the moment they arrive.

About the Role and You

As a Customer Service Officer, you’ll be the welcoming first point of contact for families, members and visitors at the new George Town Aquatic, Health and Wellbeing Centre. You’ll help create a positive experience from the moment customers walk through the door, call or get in touch with us.

You’ll assist with memberships, bookings, enquiries, retail purchases and Centre services, while confidently providing information and helping customers find the right programs and opportunities for them. You’ll also process transactions accurately and help maintain a clean, organised and inviting front-of-house environment.

Working alongside our Lifeguards, Learn to Swim Instructors and Fitness Staff, you’ll be an important part of a friendly and supportive team. If you enjoy helping people, solving problems and making a difference through great customer service, this role offers the opportunity to be at the heart of our community facility.

Position Responsibilities

- Provide friendly and professional customer service in person, by phone and email.

- Respond to customer enquiries promptly and effectively.

- Assist with memberships, bookings, payments and general Centre services.

- Promote Centre programs,



facilities and services to customers.

- Build positive relationships by understanding and responding to customer needs.

- Process sales, cash handling, café and retail transactions accurately.

- Maintain accurate and confidential customer records and information.

- Complete retail duties including stocktake, presentation and sales.

- Maintain a clean, organised, welcoming and safe front-of-house environment.

- Participate in training, meetings and professional development opportunities.

Selection Criteria

1. Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to create welcoming and positive experiences for a diverse range of customers.

2. Confident computer and administration skills, including the ability to learn and use booking, payment and point-of-sale systems.

3. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen to customers, understand their needs and provide helpful solutions.

4. High level of organisation and time management, with the ability to manage competing tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

5. Positive attitude and team spirit, with a willingness to contribute to a supportive and collaborative Centre environment.

6. Relevant qualifications or experience, including Year 12, Certificate III or higher in Business Administration or relevant customer service experience, together with Working with Vulnerable People registration.
