Purpose of the Role
BGIS is looking for an experienced Handy Person to support preventative and reactive maintenance across a nationally significant, highly secure site that plays an important role in Australia's financial system. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will work closely with client and BGIS teams to carry out general maintenance including painting, plumbing, tiling, and carpentry.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out preventative and reactive general maintenance including painting, plumbing, tiling, and carpentry.
- Respond to helpdesk requests and complete works within agreed timeframes.
- Undertake maintenance inspections, testing, and repairs as directed.




- Complete preventative maintenance job plans and equipment inspections.
- Accurately record data and assist with maintenance planning within the Maintenance Management System.
- Monitor building systems and provide recommendations for asset service and maintenance.
- Coordinate and monitor subcontractors when required.
- Support the Facilities Manager with reporting, correspondence, and capital works projects.
- Provide emergency call-out support as per the on-duty roster.
- Work safely in accordance with WHS requirements, participating in hazard and incident reporting. ️

Education, Experience & Skills

Essential:
- Experience within a building or facilities management environment.
- Practical hands-on maintenance skills across trades such as painting, plumbing, tiling, and carpentry.
- Experience working within QA, WHS, and environmental systems.
- Ability to develop Safe Work Method Statements for relevant tasks.
- Warm and clear verbal and written communication skills.
- A flexible, proactive approach to problem-solving.
- High School Certificate or equivalent.
- Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident.

Desirable:
- Relevant trade qualification (TAFE or equivalent).
- Retail or commercial building maintenance experience.
- EWP Ticket.
- Current Driver's Licence.
- Training in current WHS, QA, and environmental legislation and systems.

Workplace Flexibility
This is a full-time, permanent, on-site position based in Craigieburn, working 38 hours per week during core business hours with a monthly RDO.
