About the role

We are a well-established Australian-owned business with 40 years of experience in the hydraulics industry. Our specialised services cover various sectors, including transport, construction, mining, and marine. We are seeking a technically capable and commercially driven Graduate Engineer to identify current business opportunities and support the design, sale and delivery of both product sales & engineering projects. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who can move confidently between customer discussions, technical problem-solving, quoting, project coordination, and site-based work. The successful candidate will work closely with customers to understand their requirements, develop appropriate engineering solutions and manage awarded projects through to completion. Site visits form an important part of the role and may involve inspecting equipment, assessing project requirements, gathering technical information, meeting customers and supporting installation, testing or commissioning activities. The ability to pursue & quote for both product sales & project sales, then turn those quotes into invoices, is essential.

Key responsibilities

- Identify and pursue new product sales, new projects, customers and business opportunities across existing and prospective market sectors.

- Monitor relevant inquiries, projects, tenders and market activity to build and maintain a robust pipeline of potential work.

- Build and maintain relationships with engineers, project managers, contractors, procurement teams and other key decision-makers to support new opportunities, repeat business and long-term customer development.

- Meet with customers to understand technical, operational and commercial requirements and identify potential project opportunities.

- Review customer specifications, drawings and existing systems to determine suitable repair, modification, upgrade, replacement or new-build solutions.





- Develop engineering concepts, select equipment and contribute to system design based on the identified project requirements.

- Prepare or coordinate engineering drawings, specifications and supporting technical documentation.

- Produce project estimates, costings, quotations, and technical proposals.

- Manage awarded projects from planning through to completion, establishing deliverables, schedules, resources and project requirements.

- Coordinate engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, workshop, supplier, subcontractor and site activities throughout project delivery.

About you

- Minimum Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

- Strong mechanical and engineering fundamentals.

- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and customer requirements.

- Ability to develop engineering solutions from customer enquiries and site assessments.

- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project costing.

- Ability to prepare quotations, technical proposals and project documentation.

- Strong customer communication and relationship management skills.

- Excellent problem-solving, organisational and time management skills, with a strong customer-focused mindset.

- Ability to manage multiple projects and opportunities simultaneously.

- Current driver's licence.
