About the Role

Neon Tiger Cafe is seeking an experienced Cook to join its kitchen team. The successful candidate will prepare and cook a range of breakfast, brunch and lunch menu items while maintaining consistent food quality, portioning, presentation and food safety throughout daily service.

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: $80,000 to $84,000 per annum plus Superannuation

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook a range of breakfast, brunch and lunch menu items in accordance with established recipes and kitchen procedures
- Cook egg dishes, burgers, salads, grilled items, vegetarian dishes and other café menu items as required
- Inspect ingredients and food products to ensure freshness and appropriate quality
- Regulate temperatures of grills, ovens, stovetops and other commercial cooking equipment during food preparation
- Season food during cooking to maintain consistent flavour and quality
- Portion and present meals in accordance with established café standards




- Prepare food to meet dietary requirements and reasonable customer requests where required
- Monitor ingredient usage and assist with estimating food requirements for daily service
- Store, handle and rotate food appropriately, including within temperature-controlled storage areas
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations, cooking equipment and food storage areas
- Work collaboratively with chefs and other kitchen staff to support efficient service
- Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures at all times

Candidate Requirements

- Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen
- Experience working in a café, breakfast, brunch or casual dining environment will be highly regarded
- Strong knowledge of food preparation and commercial cooking techniques
- Ability to maintain consistent food quality, portioning and presentation during busy service periods
- Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and safe food-handling practices
- Strong teamwork, communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced café environment
