Centacare is seeking a Workplace Trainer to join our Single Assessment Service (SAS) team. Reporting to the Head of Assessment Services, you will play a key role in building workforce capability and supporting consistent, high-quality aged care assessment practice across our statewide teams.

About the role
As a key member of the SAS Leadership Team you will design, deliver and evaluate structured learning programs that ensure SAS staff develop and maintain the knowledge, skills and competency required to deliver high-quality aged care needs assessments in line with the My Aged Care Assessment Manual, MACLearning requirements and My Aged Care standards. The role strengthens consistent practice across assessment, Integrated Assessment Tool (IAT) use, referral processes and delegate decision requirements. Provide backfill support as a Clinical Assessor and conduct triage and assessments as directed to support service delivery and meet operational requirements.

Location
This is a hybrid, statewide role reporting into the Head of Assessment Services (SAS).The position is based at a Centacare office 3 days per week, with up to 2 days per week working from home.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Deliver structured onboarding training to new SAS staff, together with regular training and refresher sessions covering assessment practice, IAT use and the IAT Guide, support plan writing, referral processes, delegate decision requirements and relevant program updates.
- Successful completion of all required MACLearning training, competency requirements and certification to obtain and maintain Clinical Assessor Delegate status as a requirement of the role.
- Provide mentoring, coaching and targeted development to strengthen consistent statewide assessment practice,



first-time assessment quality and workforce capability.
- Develop engaging, scenario-based training resources, guidance materials and learning tools using real assessment examples and aligned with My Aged Care requirements.
- Identify workforce capability gaps and recurring practice issues through quality assurance audits, performance monitoring and practice reviews, and implement targeted training and support strategies.
- Support workforce completion of required MACLearning modules and mandatory SAS training, maintain evidence of workforce training and competency, and contribute to quality assurance, clinical audit readiness and continuous improvement.
- Work with SAS leadership and the Senior Clinical Assessor Specialist to identify emerging practice issues, coordinate training priorities and align training schedules with operational service requirements.
- Support workforce capability to meet Department KPI timeframes for triage and assessments; address workflow challenges including CHSP interim referrals, Support at Home transition and End of Life assessments; provide monthly training and workforce capability reports; and undertake Clinical Assessor backfill, including triage and assessments, as directed.

About you
You are a confident facilitator and experienced health or aged care professional who can translate workforce capability needs into practical training interventions and enjoys helping others strengthen their skills and assessment practice.

You will bring:

- A tertiary qualification in a health-related discipline directly related to health, aged care or a related specialist area; Registered Nurse qualifications with current AHPRA registration are preferred.
- Current unrestricted AHPRA registration or membership of a relevant professional association.




- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or equivalent.
- Experience delivering training within health, aged care, disability or community services.
- Knowledge of the My Aged Care assessment framework, My Aged Care Assessment Manual and needs-based assessment principles.
- Strong communication, facilitation, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills.
- The ability to analyse workforce capability needs and design practical, targeted training interventions.
- A commitment to quality, compliance and continuous improvement.

The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain relevant clearances, certifications and role-specific competencies, including:

- Current driver's licence

- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Australian Police check
- Evidence of Australian working rights

As a requirement of the role, you will also be required to successfully complete all relevant MACLearning training, competency requirements and certification to obtain and maintain Clinical Assessor Delegate status.
