The Position

Reporting into a senior commercial finance leader, this is a broad Senior FP&A; Specialist opportunity combining financial planning, commercial analysis, pricing, financial modelling and business partnering.

A key component of the position will be partnering closely with commercial and sales teams to assess new opportunities and proposed deals. You will review the financial viability of opportunities, assess profitability and margins, challenge assumptions and help determine whether proposed deals make economic sense.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Reviewing proposed commercial deals and assessing financial feasibility, profitability and margin outcomes
- Developing and maintaining financial models to support commercial decision-making
- Supporting pricing and repricing activity across a high-volume customer and data environment
- Partnering closely with sales and other non-finance stakeholders
- Providing commercially focused analysis and recommendations around new opportunities
- Preparing and maintaining budgets, forecasts and longer-term financial plans
- Supporting quarterly forecasting processes and providing analysis against budget and forecast




- Working with large volumes of financial and operational data to identify trends, risks and opportunities
- Preparing meaningful financial analysis for senior management and executive stakeholders
- Challenging assumptions and constructively pushing back where commercial proposals do not stack up financially
- Translating complex financial information into clear, practical insights for non-finance stakeholders
- Supporting continued improvement of financial models, reporting and commercial analysis
- Potentially providing guidance or oversight to junior members of the finance team

What We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in speaking with experienced FP&A;, commercial finance and finance business partnering professionals who have worked within complex, high-volume organisations.

Ideally, you will bring:

- Strong FP&A;, commercial finance or finance business partnering experience
- Previous exposure to commercial deal review, pricing or repricing
- Strong financial modelling capability
- Extensive budgeting and forecasting experience
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets
- Solid analytical skills and a genuinely commercial mindset
- Experience partnering with sales, commercial or other non-finance teams
- The confidence to challenge assumptions and provide constructive commercial pushback
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- Experience working within a high-volume, data-rich environment such as utilities, telecommunications, technology, infrastructure or another complex service-based organisation
- Strong organisation and prioritisation skills
- An ability to operate effectively where processes may still be evolving and some ambiguity exists

Previous financial accounting experience would also be beneficial, particularly an understanding of the relationship between the P&L;, balance sheet and cash flow.

Exposure to VBA, coding or data tools would be advantageous. You do not need to be a developer, but an ability to understand how models and data processes are constructed would be valuable.

Most importantly, this position will suit someone who enjoys being commercially involved, asking questions and using financial information to influence better business decisions.
