Are you hands-on, mechanically minded and interested in learning a skilled trade?

MEGT is seeking a 1st or 2nd Year Boilermaker Apprentice to join a busy workshop team in Waroona, working on the manufacture, fabrication and repair of equipment used in the mining industry.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your boilermaking career, working alongside experienced tradespeople and fellow apprentices in a supportive, team-focused environment.

You'll gain practical, hands-on experience while developing the skills and knowledge needed to become a qualified Boilermaker.

The opportunity

As an apprentice, you'll work under the guidance of experienced tradespeople and develop skills across heavy fabrication and workshop operations.

Your duties will include:

- Assisting with the fabrication and assembly of mining equipment
- Learning to read and interpret basic drawings and measurements
- Using hand tools, power tools and workshop machinery
- Assisting with cutting, grinding, fitting and fabrication tasks
- Learning safe and effective workshop practices
- Supporting experienced tradespeople with repairs and maintenance
- Working as part of a team to complete fabrication projects
- Maintaining a clean, organised and hazard-free work area
- Following workplace safety policies, procedures and requirements

We're looking for someone who is:

- Keen, committed and genuinely interested in learning a trade
- Practical and enjoys working with their hands
- Interested in engineering, fabrication and heavy equipment
- Reliable, punctual and willing to take direction
- Team-focused and comfortable working alongside tradespeople and other apprentices
- Safety conscious with strong attention to detail
- Curious and willing to ask questions and learn current skills




- Proactive and prepared to use initiative when appropriate
- Committed to completing their apprenticeship and developing a long-term career in the trade

Essential requirements

- Current Driver's Licence
- Reliable access to transport
- Current White Card
- Full working rights in Australia
- Genuine commitment to completing a Boilermaking apprenticeship
- Previous experience with tools, welding, fabrication, mechanics, engineering, construction or other hands-on work will be viewed favourably but is not essential.
