Cook/Chef – Cubby Care Allambie Lane

At Cubby Care Allambie Lane, we believe some of the best moments of the day happen around the table — sharing food, trying something new, having a chat and enjoying meals made with care.

We’re looking for a passionate and organised Cook/Chef to join Kerry and the wonderful Allambie Lane team and become an important part of our Kindest Kind of Kindy.

This isn’t just about preparing meals. Our Cook is part of our centre community — creating nutritious food for our children, getting to know their little likes and dislikes, supporting children with allergies and dietary needs, and bringing warmth and creativity into the kitchen every day.

What you’ll be doing

• Preparing fresh, nutritious and child-friendly meals and snacks each day
• Creating seasonal menus that are healthy, varied and appealing to little taste buds
• Catering safely and confidently for allergies, intolerances and individual dietary requirements
• Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen organisation
• Managing ordering, stock levels and kitchen budgets
• Keeping accurate food safety and compliance records
• Working closely with Kerry and the wider centre team
• Being part of centre life and helping make mealtimes a positive experience for our children





What we’re looking for

We’d love someone who brings care, creativity and pride to what they do.

You’ll ideally have:

• A relevant Food Safety Certificate
• Experience cooking in an early childhood, school, aged care or similar setting
• A strong understanding of allergies, dietary requirements and safe food handling
• Great organisation and time-management skills
• Confidence planning menus and working within a budget
• A friendly, positive approach and willingness to be part of the wider centre team
• A current Blue Card, or willingness to obtain one
• First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain it if required
