Lead the strategic management of Council’s fleet, plant and equipment assets, driving innovation, efficiency and continuous improvement. Oversee the full asset lifecycle to ensure a safe, compliant and cost-effective fleet that supports excellent service delivery and Council’s sustainability goals.

About the role:

- Lead the strategic management of Council’s $35M fleet, plant and equipment portfolio, ensuring assets are safe, compliant, cost-effective and fit for purpose.
- Drive the full asset lifecycle from procurement to disposal, using a whole-of-life costing approach to maximise value and support long-term service delivery.
- Partner with operational teams across infrastructure, water, wastewater, parks and resource recovery to deliver fleet solutions that meet diverse business needs.
- Provide data-driven insights, asset performance reporting and financial planning to inform executive decision-making, replacement programs and investment priorities.
- Inspire and lead a high-performing fleet administration team while championing innovation, continuous improvement and the adoption of emerging technologies.

We are seeking:

- Qualified in Business Operations (or a related discipline) with at least 5 years’ experience in fleet, plant,



asset management or a similar operational environment.
- Proven expertise in fleet, plant and equipment management, with a strong understanding of industry standards, best practice and lifecycle asset management principles.
- Highly skilled in the use of fleet, asset and financial systems, with the ability to analyse data and provide informed recommendations that support business outcomes.
- Strong communicator with demonstrated experience preparing reports, providing technical advice, managing procurement processes and engaging effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Safety-focused and self-motivated, with a current Drivers Licence, sound knowledge of WHS requirements, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Where it's located:

This position is based in Murwillumbah, and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
