ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Sample Management Officer to join our Brisbane laboratory at Eight Mile Plains.

The Sample Management Team plays an essential role in receiving, registering and distributing samples to the appropriate laboratory departments.

This fast-paced role requires strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively with laboratory and customer service teams to ensure samples are processed accurately and efficiently.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Sample Registration: Receive and register incoming samples, ensuring accurate entry of sample details and testing requirements into our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

- Sample Handling and Coordination: Ensure samples are correctly labelled, stored and distributed to the appropriate laboratory departments in accordance with established procedures.

- Customer Liaison: Communicate with internal Customer Service teams and external customers to clarify sample information, resolve discrepancies and ensure testing requirements are correctly understood.

- Quality and Compliance:



Follow laboratory quality and safety procedures to maintain sample integrity, traceability and compliance with Symbio's Quality Management System.

- Problem Solving: Identify and proactively resolve sample registration or handling issues to minimise delays and maintain efficient laboratory operations.

- Team Support: Work collaboratively with colleagues and undertake other duties as directed to support the smooth operation of the Sample Management Team.

ABOUT YOU

- Computer literacy: Confidence in using computer systems and entering data accurately.

A qualification in science or previous experience in a laboratory environment will be highly regarded. However, candidates with strong attention to detail, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn are also encouraged to apply.
