Foothills Medical is a second-generation family-owned practice serving the hills region and beyond. We’re a progressive and growing practice, steadily expanding over the past 5 years from a 2 FTE practice to welcoming our 8th GP on board next year. Fresh extensions to being a larger practice just completed. Foothills is a progressive group with solid values. We happily treat everyone for general practice, as well as having a focus on neurodiversity, mental health and eating disorders, trans healthcare and skin cancer medicine.

We are seeking a Practice Manager who is enthusiastic, self-motivated and organised to join our genuinely friendly team of clinical and administration staff.

We offer flexible hours of approximately 20-30 hours per week, with room to adjust a little depending on you.

About the role

As Practice Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the practice. Working closely with the practice owner Ian, along with our GPs, practice nurses and reception team. The role includes a handover period with the current practice manager who has been at the practice for 20 years.

Key responsibilities

- Responsible for the day to day management of the practice





- Leading and supporting the reception team, able to cover holiday relief and fill in at reception when required

- Supporting the clinical team of GPs and practice nurses

- Managing HR, including rosters, workflow and onboarding

- Financial management including staff pays and maintaining financial records, some accounting tasks

- Continued overall quality improvement and compliance responsibilities

- Leading the practice accreditation process (due next in 2029)

- Developing and maintaining practice policies and procedures

- Input into conflict resolution alongside the owner

About you

- Previous experience in medical practice management

- Strong leadership and collaboration skills

- Excellent communication and organisational abilities

- A professional, approachable and patient-focused manner

- Thorough understanding of financial management of a medical business including PIP program and PIP-QI in particular

- Experience with Best Practice and practice accreditation ideal
