About the role

This is an exciting prospect for a lawyer looking to take the next step in their career within a specialist disputes practice. The role will involve working across a broad range of commercial litigation and complex disputes, with class actions forming an important part of the practice. You will work closely with experienced litigators and have the opportunity to take genuine ownership of matters, develop strong client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of the Melbourne practice.

Key responsibilities

- Managing commercial litigation matters from inception through to resolution

- Working on complex and high-value disputes and class actions

- Developing litigation strategy and providing commercially focused advice

- Drafting pleadings, affidavits, submissions, correspondence and other court documents

- Conducting legal research and preparing detailed advice

- Appearing in court and assisting with hearings and interlocutory matters

- Working closely with Counsel, experts and other stakeholders

- Managing client relationships and providing strategic legal advice

- Mentoring and supporting junior lawyers





- Contributing to business development and the growth of the Melbourne practice

About you

- 4 Years PAE in litigation and complex disputes

- Class actions experience highly regarded

- The ability to manage matters autonomously and take ownership of files

- Strong drafting, research and analytical skills

- Experience appearing in court or assisting with litigation proceedings

- Confidence dealing directly with clients and Counsel

- Sound commercial judgement and an ability to develop litigation strategy

- An interest in mentoring and developing junior lawyers

- A genuine interest in business development and growing a practice
