The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Utility Locator & CCTV Inspection Technician to join our Surveying team. Reporting to the Survey Manager, you'll locate and map underground services ahead of construction, and CCTV inspect new and existing sewer and stormwater conduits across our subdivision projects.

This is a senior, hands-on field role that combines two specialist skill sets. You'll prove up services before our crews break ground, and inspect and report on assets so they're ready for water authority and council handover. You'll work with site personnel, subcontractors, service authorities, councils and clients, often across several projects at once.

In this role you will:

- Locate, trace and verify services using EM locators, GPR, sondes and wands, recorded to AS 5488-2022 quality levels
- Transparent work areas ahead of earthworks, trenching, boring and road construction,



with particular care around live services on staged and infill sites
- Identify and escalate clashes between existing services and proposed designs early
- CCTV inspect new and existing sewer and stormwater, coding and grading defects to WSA 05-2020
- Prepare inspection reports and asset data packages, and re-inspect after rectification through to handover
- Carry out all confined space work in line with our procedures, including gas testing and permits

About you
You'll have proven field experience in both subsurface utility location and CCTV conduit inspection. You'll be a confident communicator who can plan and prioritise across multiple projects and deliver under tight timeframes without cutting corners on safety or quality.

The successful applicant will have:

- A qualification in utility locating, utility mapping or surveying, or equivalent experience
- NWPNET037 / NWPNET016 (inspect sewer / stormwater drainage assets)
- NWPNET059 / NWPNET017 (supervise and report on conduit inspections)
- Confined Space Entry and Gas Test Atmospheres
- A working knowledge of AS 5488-2022, WSA 05-2020 and the civil construction industry
- A White Card and a current Class C driver licence




- A sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CCTV reporting / asset data software

Highly regarded:

- Residential subdivision experience, including greenfield and infill
- Non-destructive digging / vacuum excavation experience
- Experience within a NATA-accredited or ISO/IEC 17020-aligned inspection framework
- Traffic Control and/or Working at Heights tickets
