About us

Posh Wash is a detailing and ceramic coating shop in Cairns. We are not a car wash. Most of what we do is proper paint correction, ceramic coatings, interior restorations and recent car protection, for people who care about their cars and are happy to pay to have the work done properly.

We are growing and we need another full time detailer in the shop.

The job

Day to day you would be:
Washing and decontaminating properly (two bucket, chemical decon, clay)
Machine polishing, single stage and multi stage corrections
Prepping and applying ceramic coatings
Interiors, steam, extraction, leather
Checking your own work under lights before it goes back to the customer
Keeping the shop and the gear in valuable order

Cars go out when they are right, not when the clock says so. That is the standard, and it is the main thing we hire for.

Who we are after

Someone who has detailed before and actually enjoys it. You know your way around a polisher, you can read paint, and you know the difference between a swirl, a scratch, and a hologram you put there yourself.

Coating experience is a bonus.



If you have not applied coatings but you can correct paint to a high level, we will teach you the rest.

You also need:
A current driver licence
To be reliable. If you say you are here at 7, you are here at 7.
To be fine with the boring parts. Detailing is mostly prep.
Reasonable fitness. It is a physical job in a Cairns summer.

Training

We put real money into training, not a quick handover and good luck.
On site training with our senior detailers on our processes, products and QC checklists
Off site training days with product and coating brands, including accreditation courses where they are available
Training days are paid. You are not doing this on your own weekend.

If you want to get better at this, you will. If you want a job where nobody pushes you, this is not it.

Pay: $26.44 – $41.97 per hour

Expected hours: 38.0 per week
