Medical Receptionist / Administrator – General Surgery

We are seeking an experienced Full time Medical Receptionist / Administrator to provide high-quality administrative and patient support to our General Surgeons.

This is a busy and varied role suited to an organised, professional and motivated person who can work confidently in a fast-paced environment and as part of a small team.

Key Responsibilities
Answering phones and managing patient enquiries
Booking appointments and coordinating consulting sessions, including off-site clinics
Managing theatre bookings and liaising with hospitals
Coordinating anaesthetists and assistant surgeons
Managing surgeons’ daily diaries
Preparing correspondence and providing general administrative support
Processing operation billing, quotations and patient accounts
Liaising with Health Funds and Medicare as required
Providing professional, friendly and confidential patient service

About You





The successful candidate will have:
Previous experience in medical reception or administration
Excellent communication and telephone skills
Robust organisational skills and attention to detail
The ability to work autonomously and remain calm under pressure
A professional, friendly and patient-focused approach
Excellent confidentiality and time-management skills

Previous medical administration or nursing experience will be highly regarded. Knowledge of GenTu is advantageous but not essential.

The position is subject to a three-month probationary period, and a current Police Clearance is required.
