Disability Support Worker

We are seeking caring, reliable and motivated Disability Support Workers to support people with disabilities living in Supported Independent Living (SIL) / Supported Disability Accommodation (SDA).

The role involves providing person-centred support to assist participants with their daily living needs, independence, wellbeing and participation in everyday activities.

Key Responsibilities
Supporting people with disabilities within a supported accommodation workplace.
Assisting with personal care, including showering, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene and other daily living activities.
Providing medication assistance in accordance with the participant's support plan and organisational procedures.
Assisting participants with hoist transfers and mobility support.
Supporting participants with household routines, meals and general daily activities.
Encouraging participant choice, independence, dignity and involvement in decision-making.
Completing appropriate shift documentation, progress notes and handovers.
Following participant care plans, risk assessments and organisational policies and procedures.

Training and Support





Previous experience is valued; however, comprehensive training and support will be provided for the specific needs of the participants.

This includes:
Medication assistance training and competency assessment, supported by Registered Nurses.
Hoist transfer and manual handling training.
Personal care training.
Participant-specific care and support training.
Buddy shifts with experienced staff until you are confident and competent in the role.

We are looking for workers who are respectful, dependable, willing to learn and committed to providing secure, person-centred support.

Applicants should have, or be willing to obtain, the relevant employment screening, checks and certifications required to work within the disability support sector.

Pay: $50.00 – $100.00 per hour

support work: 1 year (Preferred)

fluent english (Preferred)

Licence/Certification:
First Aid Certification (Preferred)
CPR Certification (Preferred)
