About the role

The Milk Filter Department Production Technician is responsible for the effective operation of the automated production line, ensuring the production of high-quality milk filters. This role involves various tasks, including slitting rolls, assisting in the industrial department, unloading shipping containers, packing finished products, booking freight, basic forklift driving, and managing basic stock control. The technician will work closely with the Production Manager and provide support to other departments when necessary.

Key responsibilities
Monitor and control the automated production line to ensure consistent quality and output
Troubleshoot and resolve minor issues to maintain continuous operation
Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of equipment to ensure optimal performance
Handle and operate slitting machinery to cut rolls of material to specified sizes
Assist the industrial department with slitting rolls when required
Safely unload shipping containers within a team containing raw materials or finished goods




Put away stock in designated stock locations as directed
Pack and prepare finished products (Milk Filters) for shipment according to company standards
Ensure proper labelling and documentation of all packed items
Book freight with transport companies on their online platforms and phone when required

About you
Experience in operating automated production lines or similar machinery
Knowledge of slitting machinery and processes is an advantage
Ability to lift and move heavy materials, including unloading containers
Solid attention to detail and accuracy
Basic computer skills for booking freight and managing stock control
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work under minimal supervision and prioritize tasks efficiently
Forklift license preferred but not essential
Adhere to all company OHS policies and procedures
Wear appropriate PPE, such as gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection, as required
