Delicatessen Assistant — Lena's Continental Deli

As our Delicatessen Assistant, you'll be at the heart of the action — slicing prime smallgoods with precision, curating mouth-watering cheese platters, and guiding customers through a world of olives, cured meats, and continental treats.

What the role involves:
Slicing and serving smallgoods, cheeses, and deli items to customer requests
Serving customers, answering questions about products, and processing sales
Keeping the deli counter and displays clean, stocked, and well-presented
Basic food handling, weighing, and packaging
General shop duties — restocking, cleaning, opening/closing tasks

What we're looking for:
Some experience in food service,



retail, or hospitality is a plus (but not essential — we're happy to train the right person)
Comfortable using a slicer, or willing to learn
Friendly, customer-facing manner — this is a local shop with a lot of regulars
Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a small team
Available across our trading hours (Mon–Fri 7am–6pm, Sat 7am–3pm, Sun 7am–2pm) — some weekend availability generally required

Pay: $25.65 – $44.89 per hour

Expected hours: 12.0 – 20.0 per week
