Grill chef / Cook

We’re a high-volume pub that's looking for an experienced Grill chef/ Cook to join us at one of Melbourne's iconic venues, Transport Hotel.

Our kitchen is all about quality produce, hand-stretched 48-hour fermented dough, and cooking with consistency – balancing tradition with innovation. You'll be working with a excellent team, giving you the tools to deliver consistency and excellence at pace.

The role:
As a cook, you’ll be responsible for both the food and running of the kitchen. This means:
Joining the kitchen team with energy, professionalism, and passion
Running daily operations and maintaining consistency in a high-volume environment
Cooking with intention - seasoning, appearance and quality
Assist the senior chefs with daily operations e.g. par levels, ordering

What we’re looking for:
Proven experience in a busy kitchen
A valuable base knowledge of seasoning and quality control
A team player who can balance enjoyment and fun with operational excellence
Robust organisational, punctual and people management skills
Someone who thrives under pressure but stays motivated and positive
