About the role

IGA Fraser Shores is seeking an Experienced Takeaway Cook to join our deli team in Hervey Bay. This is a fantastic prospect to utilise your culinary expertise in a fast-paced takeaway environment where quality, efficiency and teamwork are paramount. You will prepare, cook and display a range of fresh and tasty menu items for our hotboxes and self-serve displays catering to our customers' needs.

You will be an integral part of our food service operation, offering innovation and creative ideas while ensuring quality products.

Key responsibilities
Preparing and cooking a range of hot takeaway foods
Preparing salads, sandwiches and other deli items
Maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation
Preparing food for busy trading periods
Ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are always met
Keeping the kitchen and work areas clean and organised
Monitoring stock, freshness and food waste
Working as part of a friendly and supportive deli team




Serving customers at the hot-food counter and at the registers

About you
Has previous experience as a takeaway, deli or commercial cook
Is confident preparing food in a busy, high-volume workplace
Has excellent food preparation and cooking skills, showing creativity and initiative
Takes pride in the quality and presentation of their food
Has a strong understanding of food safety and hygiene
Works well under pressure and can manage time effectively
Is reliable, hardworking and has a positive attitude
Can work independently and as part of a team
Is available for early morning or afternoon and evening shifts, as well as weekend work
Supermarket deli or takeaway experience is highly desirable
