Reymond Group's Bistro Gitan is looking for a passionate and motivated Full-Time Commis & Demi Chefs to join our kitchen team.

Located in South Yarra, Bistro Gitan is a vibrant French restaurant focused on quality produce, thoughtful cooking and warm, genuine hospitality.

We're looking for someone who is eager to learn, takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a fast-paced, qualified kitchen. This is a great chance for an aspiring chef looking to build their skills and develop their career alongside an experienced team.

The Role

As a Commis Chef, you'll work closely with our kitchen team across preparation and service, gaining hands-on experience in a professional restaurant workplace.

Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting with daily food preparation and mise en place
Supporting the chefs during service
Maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation
Keeping your section clean,



organised and well stocked
Following food safety, hygiene and kitchen procedures
Working collaboratively as part of the wider kitchen team
Learning and developing your culinary skills across different sections

About You

We're looking for someone who is:
Passionate about food and hospitality
Reliable, punctual and well presented
Keen to learn and develop as a chef
Able to work calmly and efficiently in a busy kitchen
A positive team player with a strong work ethic
Full availability across day and night shifts
