Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Assistant Poultry Farm Manager to join a well-established broiler operation located in Bulahdelah, NSW.

The farm consists of 6 sheds housing approximately 250,000 broilers. Working alongside the Farm Manager and farm labourer, you will assist with the day-to-day operation of the farm while maintaining high standards of bird welfare, biosecurity and farm performance.

The Role

n

Key responsibilities will include:

n

Assisting with the daily operation of 6 broiler sheds
n
Monitoring bird health, welfare and shed conditions
n
Managing feeding, ventilation, temperature and environmental controls
n
Operating Rotem and SKOV controllers
n
Completing farm checks and required record keeping
n
Assisting with bird pick-ups
n
Monitoring equipment and reporting maintenance requirements
n
Maintaining high standards of biosecurity, cleanliness and animal welfare
n
Working closely with the Farm Manager and farm labourer to ensure smooth farm operations
n

Salary: $85,000 package + substantial additional benefits

n





Previous experience with Rotem or SKOV controllers would be beneficial; however full training will be provided, and experience with similar poultry or agricultural systems will be highly regarded.

About You

Reliable, practical and willing to work hands-on
n
Experienced in poultry, livestock, farming or agricultural operations
n
Comfortable working independently as well as part of a small team
n
Willing to undertake early morning and overnight duties when required
n
Focused on animal welfare, biosecurity and maintaining farm standards
n
Comfortable learning recent systems and farm procedures
n
Looking for a stable, long-term prospect
