About The Role
n
Reporting to the Management Accountant, the Assistant Accountant will support the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring accurate and timely financial processing and reporting.
n
Key Responsibilities Will Include
n
n
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including processing invoices, allocating debtor payments and responding to supplier queries.
n
Ensure invoices are accurately coded, processed and paid within agreed payment terms.
n
Prepare supplier payment runs, credit applications and maintain accurate supplier records.
n
Prepare month-end journals and reconciliations, including AP accruals, FBT and prepayments.
n
Process employee expense claims, ensuring appropriate supporting documentation is provided.
n
Manage company vehicle and machinery registrations and insurance, maintaining accurate records.
n
Manage fuel cards and other supplier cards, ensuring transactions are appropriately supported and submitted for review.
n
Complete daily balancing and reconciliations,



ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
n
Support internal and external audit processes and provide information as required.
n
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies and internal controls.
n

About You
n
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
n
n
Relevant qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
n
CPA or CA qualification (or currently working towards completion)
n
2 – 3 years previous experience in an accounting or finance role
n
Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
n
Good understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
n
Solid Excel and Microsoft Office skills
n
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
n
The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
n
A proactive approach and willingness to learn
n
n
Experience in hospitality, clubs, gaming, hotels, restaurants or retail will be highly regarded.
n
