360HR Solutions is proud to be partnering with an established engineering and manufacturing firm operating across a diverse portfolio of projects in Wollongong and internationally, including Abu Dhabi in the UAE and Al-Khobar in Saudi Arabia.
This role would suit a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys combining hands-on accounting work with project insight, operational engagement and long-term career progression.

This is a rare opportunity to join the business as part of a planned succession strategy, working closely with the long-standing Finance Manager during a structured handover before progressively taking on greater responsibility within the finance function.
The Opportunity
Based in the Wollongong office, you will initially work alongside the current Finance Manager through a structured handover period of approximately 12 months.
This is a hands-on senior finance position combining management accounting, project accounting, financial accounting, reporting, systems and people leadership.
You will also lead two finance team members based across Wollongong and Melbourne.




Your responsibilities will include:
Management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting
Financial oversight and reporting across multiple concurrent projects
Monitoring project costs, performance and variances
Month-end and year-end accounting processes
General ledger and balance sheet reconciliations
Investigating financial anomalies and unusual transactions
Supporting payroll-related statutory requirements and reconciliations
Banking, payment processes and financial controls
Improving finance processes, reporting and business intelligence
Working with Pronto and Cognos to interrogate financial information and improve reporting
Supporting and developing finance team members
Working collaboratively with senior management, operational teams and external advisers
Progressively learning and assuming the responsibilities of the Finance Manager
About You
You may be an experienced Management Accountant, Project Accountant, Senior Management Accountant or emerging Finance Manager with experience in a project-driven environment.
Experience within engineering, manufacturing, heavy industry, construction, infrastructure or a similar project-based sector would be particularly advantageous.
You will bring:




A relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline is required
Strong management and project accounting experience
Experience working across multiple projects, contracts or cost centres
Strong understanding of month-end, year-end, GL and financial reporting
Excellent Excel and financial systems capability
ERP experience, with Pronto highly regarded
Reporting/BI experience, with Cognos or similar highly regarded
Robust commercial awareness and an ability to understand the financial performance of projects
The confidence to work with both finance and operational stakeholders
A practical, hands-on approach combined with the ability to see the bigger commercial picture
CA/CPA qualification, or progress towards qualification, is highly regarded
Willingness to undertake occasional interstate and international travel, including approximately twice-yearly travel to the UAE.
