Our menu focuses on quality ingredients, bold Italian flavours and dishes designed to be enjoyed and shared. We pride ourselves on delivering consistently excellent food and creating a dining experience that keeps our guests coming back.

We are now looking for an experienced and motivated Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team.

The Role

Working alongside our Head Chef and experienced kitchen team, you will be responsible for running your section efficiently and helping maintain the high standards Assaggini is known for.

This is a great opportunity for a passionate chef who enjoys working with Italian food, takes pride in their work and wants to be part of a friendly, established Mornington venue.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and execute a modern Italian menu to a consistently high standard
Lead, train, and motivate kitchen team members
Manage food quality, presentation, and portion control
Oversee ordering, stock control, and cost management




Maintain compliance with all food safety and hygiene requirements
Collaborate with management to create seasonal, produce-driven dishes
Assist with rostering, workflow planning, and daily kitchen operations
Foster a professional, supportive, and efficient kitchen environment
Ensure excellent communication with front-of-house and other departments

About You
Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a similar role
Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine and contemporary cooking techniques
Proven leadership and team-building abilities
Reliable, creative, and passionate about quality food
Excellent attention to detail and presentation
Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining standards
Commitment to consistency, cleanliness, and professionalism
