We are seeking aPrimary Designer / Drafterto join our supportive and passionate team.
This role focuses onzone substation primary design and drafting, including:
66kV GIS buildings
22kV AIS systems
Primary substation layouts, equipment arrangements and associated drafting
Development and preparation of detailed electrical design drawings
This is a hands‐on role contributing to the delivery ofsafe, efficient, and high‐quality substation designs and drafting outputsfrom concept through to detailed design.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver and/or support primary substation design solutions, including substations up to 500kV, earthing, lighting and cable design
Produce and develop detailedprimary electrical drawings and drafting documentationusing AutoCAD
Develop designs and drawings in line withAS ****, relevant standards and Safety in Design requirements
Coordinate with secondary, civil and project teams to ensure integrated design delivery
Review and verify internal and external design outputs and manufacturer drawings
Support scoping and estimation of primary design and drafting works
Contribute to design standards, technical improvements and innovation initiatives
Ensure designs and drafting outputs meet safety, quality and project objectives
About You
We are open to candidates with anengineering, design or drafting background, including:




Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical)for engineering‐level candidates
Relevant experience in the electrical/power industry, ideally withinsubstation design or drafting
Solid understanding ofprimary substation design, drafting and documentation
Experience withAutoCAD and/or MicroStation
Ability to interpret electrical engineering drawings, layouts and design documentation
Understanding of Safety in Design principles
Working towards or holdingNER / RPEng / RPEV (or equivalent)for engineering‐level candidates
RPEQ advantageous
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary project teams
