Cherry Creek Youth Justice Precinct is our newest facility and accommodates young men in 4-bed and 8-bed units across several neighbourhoods.
As a youth justice worker, you will guide young people in custody through rehabilitation by modelling positive behaviour and engaging them in programs to build life and work skills.
This is a frontline custodial role in a youth detention facility where you will also promoteimportant security procedures.
Your work will help young people get their lives back on track by:
maintainingsafety and security
establishinghealthy routines
setting explicit boundariesandredirecting challenging behaviour
responding to incidents
helping them developpositive relationships
facilitating supportfrom health and mental health providers.

This job can be tough.

You will be guided bysupportive senior leadersand mentors, backed by a skilled team of fellow youth justice workers.
Our training program will set you up to be a role model from your first day.
You will receive:
8 weeks of fully paid training
a rotating fortnightly roster where you will work no more than 3 days in a row
