Volley Recruit is currently seeking experienced Underground Heavy Diesel Mechanics for an ongoing opportunity in Broken Hill, NSW.
n

7 days on / 7 days off roster (Negotiable)

THE ROLE
n
Working iin a Hardrock mining setting , You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a fleet of underground mining and heavy mobile equipment, helping maximise equipment availability and minimise downtime.
n
n
Scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
n
Mechanical, hydraulic and basic electrical fault finding
n
Underground breakdown repairs
n
Component change-outs including engines, transmissions, pumps and cylinders
n
Equipment inspections and defect identification
n
Reading hydraulic/electrical schematics and OEM manuals
n
Testing and returning equipment safely to production
n
Working closely with operators, auto electricians and the maintenance team
n
Following strict isolation, risk assessment and WHS procedures
n
n
ABOUT YOU
n
You will need:
n
n
Recognised Australian Heavy Diesel / Mobile Plant / Mechanical Trade Qualification
n
Relevant High Risk licences and tickets (HR Licence)
n
Solid mechanical and hydraulic fault-finding skills
n
Ability to work underground and rotating day/night shifts
n
Strong safety record and commitment to protected work practices
n
Ability to pass a medical and drug & alcohol screen
n
n
HIGHLY DESIRABLE
n
Experience with:
n
n
CAT underground equipment, Sandvik, Epiroc / Atlas Copco
n
Underground hard-rock mining
n
Underground loaders, trucks and boggers
n
OEM machine-specific training
n
Auto-electrical diagnostics
n
n
