BDK Labour Hire is currently seeking experienced Precast Steel Fixers to join a busy precast concrete yard located in Melbourne's North and West. Work will be carried out in a precast yard alongside skilled Formworkers and Concreters. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates seeking ongoing, stable work with the potential to transition into full-time employment based on performance.

Key responsibilities
n
n
Interpret engineering drawings and specifications for steel reinforcement placement.
n
Install and secure steel reinforcement (e.g., rebar, mesh) into precast concrete molds as per engineer drawings.
n
Cut, bend, and tie steel bars to form reinforcement cages/frames.
n
Assist in the preparation and setup of formwork and molds.
n
Ensure all work complies with safety, quality, and timeline requirements.
n
Operate steel fixing tools and machinery as required.
n

About you
n
n
Minimum 2 years of steel fixing experience in precast environments
n
Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings
n




Valid Construction Induction (White Card) – Mandatory
n
Valid Driver's License and reliable transport – Mandatory
n
Work rights in Australia
n
Ability to pass a Drug & Alcohol Screening
n
Physically fit and safety-focused
n
Reliable and punctual with a solid work ethic
