The office of Lisa Chesters MP is seeking applications for a non-ongoing Digital Media Officer, based in the Member's electorate office in Bendigo, Victoria.

This contract is for 12 months, with the opportunity for extension. Both fulltime and part time work arrangements will be considered.

About the role
n
The Digital Media Officer will play a crucial role assisting the Member to fulfil her duties as an elected representative. Whether it's a national news moment or a local story, the focus of this role will be to support the Member to communicate with constituents via digital media platforms.
n
Key responsibilities
n
n
Drafting, designing, and editing social media content including videos, images and other digital content.
n
Planning and preparing social media content schedules.
n
Coordinating with the Media Officer to ensure coverage of local media opportunities.
n
Coordinating with the Diary Manager to ensure coverage of local events, tours and meetings.
n
Contribute to constituent enquiries (in-person, phone and email), researching solutions and liaising with Government agencies and stakeholders as needed, to ensure matters are resolved in a timely and effective manner.

Drafting correspondence and speaking notes.
n
Attending events, tours, visits and meetings with the Member.
n
Other duties as required to support the Parliamentarian and the effective operation of the Electorate Office, including but not limited to, mail, reception, and data entry.

About you
n
n
Communication and/or media qualifications or demonstrated experience in the design and management of digital platforms.
n




Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
n
Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
n
Ability to use graphic design and video editing tools such as Canva and Adobe programs is highly desirable.
n
Prior political experience is preferred but not essential, however an interest in and understanding of the local political workplace is required.
n
The ability to engage and communicate with a broad range of people and organisations.
n
Demonstrated professional integrity and the ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
n
A respectful demeanour when engaging with office staff and constituents.
n

Employment conditions:
n
n
A commencing salary between $77,071 and $81,594 will be negotiated depending on experience and relevant skills.
n
An additional optional allowance of up to $12,005 in recognition of, and as compensation for, reasonable additional hours of work.
n
An employer superannuation contribution of 15.4% will be payable.
n
n

An initial probationary period of three months will apply and may be subject to extension.
n
The successful applicant may be required to undergo a National Police History Check.
n
Staff may be subject to automatic cessation triggers in accordance with Section 14 of the MOP(S) Act.
n
The successful applicant will be required to comply with their obligations under the Behaviour Codes and Standards.
n
This role may require infrequent travel and also occasional irregular work hours including after hours and on weekends.
