ABOUT THE POSITION
n
IWC is seeking a permanent part-time up to full time Aged Care Support Worker to provide care to our aged care clients living in the community, supporting their independence and improving their quality of life.

We are seeking a Aged Care Support Worker who is committed to ensuring the highest possible standard of in-home care for our valued clients.
n
DUTIES
n
n
Provide domestic assistance including general household cleaning, laundry, linen assistance and shopping assistance.
n
Provide individual and group social support, accompanied activities, community access and cultural support where allocated.
n
Provide transport to appointments, shopping, community activities and other approved destinations where required.
n
Provide in-home or community-based respite support to clients and their informal carers.
n
Assist clients with meal preparation and other everyday living activities where included in their care and services plan.
n
Where appropriately trained, assessed as competent and authorised by IWC,



provide personal care support including assistance with activities of daily living, non-clinical continence support and assistance with self-administration of medication.
n
Support clients to maintain independence and participate in everyday activities rather than unnecessarily undertaking tasks for them.
n
Observe, document and report changes in a client's condition, wellbeing, environment, circumstances or support needs.
n
Complete accurate service records, progress/care notes, incident reports and other required documentation.
n
Report hazards, incidents, suspected abuse, neglect, deterioration or other risks in accordance with IWC procedures.
n
Deliver other approved Support at Home services within the employee's role, training, demonstrated competency and scope, as directed and in accordance with the client's care and services plan.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
n

Willingness to embrace domestic care duties as part of their role.
n
Genuine empathy with elderly clients and a passion to work within the community service industry.
n
Excellent telephone manner and great communication skills.
n
Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
n




Strong organisation and time management skills to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
n
Demonstrated ability to work independently whilst functioning within a team setting.
n
High level of computer literacy and the ability to learn new systems quickly and retain information.
n

KEYREQUIREMENTS
n
n
Willing to complete a Certificate III in Individual Support (Home and Community). All course expenses will be fully funded.
n
A current driver's licence is essential.
n
A First Aid/CPR Certificate or ability to obtain.
n
A Blue Card (Working with Children Card QLD)* or ability to obtain.
n
A Federal Police Check or ability to obtain.
n
* No Card, No Start legislation means that the successful applicant will need to hold a valid blue card before they start work. IWC will cover the cost of this application for the successful candidate.

SALARY PACKAGE
n
Your Salary Package is made up of the following: -
n
n
Salary Sacrifice Packaging valued up to $15,990 per annum - adding approximately $2,000 to your take-home pay (available after completion of probation).
n
Meals and Entertainment Package up to $2,650 per annum (available after completion of probation).
n
9-Day Fortnight (for full-time staff).
n
Superannuation valued at 12%.
n
Annual Leave Loading of 17.5%.
n
