Underground Mine Surveyor | Growing Underground Copper Operation | Queensland

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Underground Mine Surveyor to join a well-established underground hard-rock mining operation in Queensland.
n
With significant growth and expansion projects underway, this operation offers the opportunity to work within a technically focused team supporting both current production activities and future mine development. Reporting to the Senior Mine Surveyor, you will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely survey services that support safe, efficient, and productive mining operations.

About the Role
n
As the Underground Mine Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Providing accurate underground and surface survey data to support mining activities
n
Installing and maintaining survey control networks and survey stations
n
Marking up development and production designs for underground operations
n
Conducting development pickups and maintaining as‐built survey models
n
Completing cavity monitoring system (CMS) surveys and validating survey results
n
Producing survey plans, reports, and technical documentation
n
Undertaking monthly volume and reconciliation surveys
n
Supporting surface set-outs and aerial survey activities where required
n
Maintaining survey equipment and ensuring calibration standards are met
n




Driving continuous improvement in survey processes and data management
n

About You
n
To be successful in the role, you will ideally possess:
n
n
Tertiary qualifications in Surveying, Geomatics, Spatial Science, or a related discipline
n
Strong experience within hard-rock mining
n
Exposure to mining methods such as longhole open stoping, sublevel caving, or similar underground extraction techniques
n
Proficiency with industry-standard software including GEOVIA Surpac, Pix4D, or comparable survey platforms
n
Strong understanding of underground survey control, development mark‐ups, and production surveying
n
Experience using Leica survey equipment (highly regarded)
n
Drone surveying experience and RePL certification (advantageous)
n
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across technical and operational teams
n
