This is an exciting opportunity for a primary teacher who loves working with young learners and wants to make a genuine difference during theirfirst year of formal schooling.
As a Prep Teacher, you will play an important role in helping students transition into school, develop their confidence and independence, and establish the foundations they need for a successful primary education.
The Prospect
The successful teacher will be responsible for creating awarm, nurturing and engaging classroom environmentwhere Prep students feel confident, supported and excited to learn.
You will have the opportunity to:
Teach aPrep/Foundation class
Support students through their transition into formal schooling
Establish positive classroom routines, relationships and expectations
Build strong foundations inearly literacy, phonics and numeracy
Develop students' oral language, communication and social skills
Create engaging, hands-on and age-appropriate learning experiences
Support students to develop independence, confidence and resilience
Plan and deliver differentiated learning to meet individual needs
Monitor student progress through assessment and observationBuild strong relationships with parents, carers and the wider school community
Work collaboratively with colleagues, Learning Support and specialist staff
Contribute to student wellbeing, engagement and achievement
About You
We are looking for a teacher who:




Holds recognised teaching qualifications and isVIT registered or eligible for registration
Has experience teachingPrep/Foundation or the early primary years
Has a genuine passion for working with young children
Understands the importance of the transition into formal schooling
Is confident teaching early literacy, phonics and numeracy
Creates a positive, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment
Has solid classroom management and relationship-building skills
Can plan engaging and differentiated learning experiences
Is enthusiastic, creative and patient
Works collaboratively as part of a team
Is committed to student wellbeing and individual achievement
