Job Description
The Senior Field Engineer is responsible for the in office installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management of self-service kiosk systems deployed at customer locations.
This role demands a high level of technical expertise across hardware, software, and networking domains, with a focus on delivering reliable, secure, and full ICT technical support services across operational kiosk environments.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in the field.
Key responsibilities
Perform full kiosk hardware installations, including mounting, cable management, and peripheral integration.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot LED strip lighting systems integrated into kiosk enclosures, as well as secure hardware infrastructures, bespoke peripheral replacement, USB inventories and other hacker-protection features.
Conduct USB hardware inventory audits at each site, documenting all connected peripherals and ensuring compliance with approved device lists.
Diagnose, replace and repair hardware components including touchscreens, receipt printers, card readers, barcode scanners, and cameras.
Perform OS installations, upgrades,
and re-imaging across Windows and Linux-based kiosk platforms.
Deploy, configure, and maintain custom kiosk software applications and proprietary management agents.
Execute software version control and patch management in accordance with release schedules.
Troubleshoot software faults, application crashes, and OS-level issues in the field.
Verify and maintain kiosk security configurations including network segmentation, firewall rules, and endpoint protection configurations.
Configure and verify wired and wireless network connections for kiosk systems.
About you
3+ years of experience in field service support engineering, IT support, or a related technical role.
Demonstrated hands-on experience with kiosk hardware or embedded systems.
Proficiency in Windows ***** and Linux OS installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Experience with custom or proprietary software deployment and maintenance.
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Wi‐Fi).
Familiarity with USB device management and hardware inventory practices.
Knowledge of IT security principles, endpoint protection, and organisational security procedures.
